Heather flows effortlessly from one genre to another using color and interpretation to define any subject. She paints from her emotions and over the years has painted all she could get her hands on. She paints on walls and ceilings, interiors and exterior murals, furniture, dishes, sculpts, and now concentrates on acrylic and canvas. Her work is sold worldwide to collectors that appreciate fabulous colorful style and extraordinary talent.

After a short study of design and color at Laguna Beach School of Art, Heather is still noted as a self-taught artist. Her innate sense of color palette and passion can not be categorized; it is one that stands alone. In the mid 90′s Heather found herself immensely involved in painting with the community. This mother of three, who balanced sports and school schedules with her creative juices, was recognized by the Union Tribune among Poway, CA’s “Most Valuable Women.”

Volunteering her artful talent and time to decorate school walls with the help of attending children brought back the arts to the schools that excluded and gave young minds an opportunity to explore the artist within (14 schools within San Diego County). Heather has contributed her time and skill to P.A.W.S., Rady’s Children with Bill Cosby, and The Buick Invitational. Heather has a soft spot for children’s charities and never says “no” to giving.

She made a mark in the community for eight years for doing whimsical, interactive, one-of-a-kind hand painted furniture pieces. Some of the most prestigious men, women, and galleries in California and abroad have represented Heather’s unique work. Heather Roddy’s work is in the private collection of professional athletes like Steve Young, Bip Roberts, Kevin Towers, (Former Co-Owner of the San Diego Padres) and the owner of Kentucky Derby 2008′s winner Big Brown.

Heather has recently been offered her own television show, teaching the viewer painting techniques. Production has already begun, and Berlin is the first city to host the show, Beauty of Acrylic Painting. Look for her show to be aired in the US on PBS in Fall of 2011.

This San Diego native who was born to two famous oil painters grew up in a creative environment is grateful for the many collectors that have supported her craft and allowed her to raise her children solely from the sales of her work. Heather praises the good nature of great art and believes it has gone a long way. Each piece has the ability to hold the viewer captive evoking energy and thought.
